What You Need to Know First
This is my Terms of Service. It's important, but I'm going to be straightforward about what it means instead of hiding behind legalese.
The core deal:
- You own everything you create
- I provide the tool and keep it running
- You agree to use it responsibly
- If something breaks, I'm not liable (but I'll try to help)
If something in here doesn't sit right with you, email me before you commit. I'm open to feedback and might be willing to work with you.
1. What Truesight Is (And Isn't)
What I'm Providing
Truesight is a worldbuilding tool. You can:
- Upload maps
- Create wiki pages (entries) for locations, NPCs, quests, enemies, items, factions
- Let Scribe (my AI) help you organize and link content
- Export your content
What Truesight Isn't
- Not a substitute for backup. I store your data in multiple locations, but I'm one person. If something catastrophic happens, I may not be able to recover everything. Assume Truesight is not your primary backup.
- Not guaranteed to be up 24/7. I do my best, but servers fail. I'm not obligated to maintain uptime or give you credit if it goes down.
- Not a VTT. If you need to run actual D&D sessions, use Roll20 or Foundry VTT. Truesight is for prep and worldbuilding, not session running.
- Not a publishing platform. If you want to publish your world commercially, you'll need your own setup. I'm providing the tool, not distribution.
- Not responsible for you losing your data. You're responsible for exporting backups if they matter to you.
2. Your Content
You Own Everything You Create
Every world, map, location, NPC, quest, enemy, item, faction, description—everything you put into Truesight is yours.
I don't own it. I don't license it. I don't have rights to it beyond what I need to run the service.
You can:
- Delete it anytime
- Export it and use it elsewhere
- Share it publicly or keep it private
- Publish it commercially (if you want)
- Do whatever you want with it
What I Can Do With Your Content
I can:
- Store it (so you can access it)
- Display it back to you
- Analyze patterns in it (for Scribe training and anonymized research)
- Delete it if you ask
I cannot:
- Sell it
- Give it to third parties
- Train external AI on it
- Claim ownership
- Publish it without permission
This is non-negotiable.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to do:
Illegal Stuff
- Use Truesight for anything illegal
- Violate any laws in your jurisdiction
- Help someone else break the law
Harmful Content
- Upload content that depicts or encourages violence, abuse, or illegal activity
- Use Truesight to harass, threaten, or harm anyone
- Upload hate speech or discriminatory content
- Create content that sexualizes minors
Abusive Behavior
- Try to hack or break Truesight
- Spam, flood, or disrupt the service
- Impersonate someone else
- Interfere with others' use of Truesight
Intellectual Property
- Don't upload copyrighted material you don't have rights to (books, movie plots, published D&D modules, etc.)
- Don't use copyrighted characters from major franchises (Marvel, DC, Harry Potter, etc.)
- Official D&D content is okay for personal use, but read WotC's terms about your responsibilities
I'm not a lawyer, and I won't be a copyright police officer for you. But if something is clearly stolen, I'll remove it and might suspend your account.
Spam & Bots
- Don't create fake accounts
- Don't automate uploads
- Don't use bots to abuse the service
- Don't spam other users
If I catch you doing this, I'll ban you.
4. Account & Access
You're Responsible for Your Account
- Keep your password secure
- Don't share your account
- If someone else uses your account, you're responsible for what they do
- Tell me immediately if your account is compromised
I'm not responsible if someone breaks into your account and deletes your worlds. That's on you to secure.
I Can Suspend or Delete Your Account If
- You violate these terms
- You're harassing other users
- You're uploading illegal or harmful content
- I suspect fraud or abuse
- You have outstanding payment issues
I'll try to tell you first. But if it's serious, I might just shut it down.
If I delete your account, your data goes with it (per the Privacy Policy). No refunds.
5. Payments & Subscriptions
Right Now: It's Free
Truesight is completely free. I'm paying for the servers and Scribe's AI infrastructure out of my own pocket. You can use everything without spending money.
I built this because I wanted the tool to exist, not because I'm looking to squeeze money from users immediately.
In The Future: Subscriptions Are Coming
Eventually, I'll need to introduce a paid tier to keep Truesight running sustainably. Here's what that will look like:
What will be free forever:
- Core worldbuilding features (maps, wiki pages, locations, NPCs, quests, enemies, items, factions)
- Basic editing and organizing
- Ability to export your data
- Basic Scribe suggestions (a limited number per month)
What will be premium:
- Unlimited Scribe suggestions and refinements
- Advanced Scribe features (more sophisticated linking, deeper analysis)
- Higher resource limits (more maps, more locations, more data storage)
What I will NOT do:
- Remove core features you can use today from the free tier
- Charge you to access worlds you've already created
- Paywall basic worldbuilding functionality
- Make the free tier so limited it's unusable
When That Happens
- I'll announce it 30 days in advance
- I'll grandfather existing free users with generous limits
- You'll have time to decide if you want to pay or stick with free
- If you don't want to pay, you can export all your data and leave
Billing (When It's Live)
- I'll use Stripe for payments
- You can cancel anytime (no refunds for the current month, but you keep access until the month ends)
- If a payment fails, I'll try again. If it fails repeatedly, you drop to free tier
- No refunds for changing your mind, but you get a full month for your money
Price Changes
- I can adjust pricing, but I'll give 30 days' notice
- You can cancel before the new price takes effect if you don't like it
6. Scribe (The AI)
How Scribe Works
- Scribe learns from patterns in worlds (anonymized, not content)
- Scribe learns from your corrections (when you refine suggestions)
- Scribe is trained only on Truesight data, not licensed to third parties
What Scribe Is NOT
- Not perfect. It will make mistakes. Expect it.
- Not a guarantee. Sometimes Scribe's suggestions will be wrong or unhelpful
- Not responsible for. If Scribe suggests something bad and you use it, that's on you
- Not your lawyer, game designer, or creative director. It's a tool to help, not make decisions for you
You Can Disable Scribe Training
- Turn off analytics in Settings and I won't extract metadata (As of September 2026 this is not being done yet.)
- Scribe improvements will slow down for you
- Already-trained models can't be un-trained
7. Limitations of Liability
Here's The Hard Truth
If something goes wrong with Truesight, I'm not paying you money to fix it.
- If Truesight loses your data, I'm not liable
- If Truesight is down for days, I'm not liable
- If Scribe gives you bad suggestions, I'm not liable
- If you make a decision based on Truesight and it goes wrong, I'm not liable
The only exception: If I personally hack into your account and delete everything on purpose, you might have a legal claim. But basically everything else: not my problem legally.
This is harsh, but it's how solo indie makers survive. I can't insure against every possible disaster.
What I Will Do (Even Though I Don't Have To):
- Try to fix bugs
- Try to recover lost data if I can
- Listen to complaints and improve
- Take privacy breaches seriously
But I'm not legally obligated to do any of that.
8. Intellectual Property
My IP
- Truesight (the tool, interface, code) is mine
- Scribe is mine
- Any improvements I make are mine
You can't:
- Copy my code
- Scrape my website
- Reverse-engineer Truesight
- Claim Scribe as your own
Your IP
- Everything you create is yours (as stated above)
- If you publish your worlds, you own the copyright
- I'm just storing them
9. Privacy
I have a separate Privacy Policy. Read it. This terms doesn't override that—your data rights are in the privacy policy.
10. Third-Party Services
I Use
- Stripe for payments (read their terms)
- AWS & CloudFlare for hosting (read their terms)
I'm not responsible for their failures. If Stripe goes down, that's not my fault.
Third-Party Content
If you use integrations or link to other tools, that's on you. I'm not responsible for what those other services do.
11. Changes to These Terms
How It Works
- I can change these terms anytime
- If I make big changes, I'll email you
- If you don't like the changes, stop using Truesight
- Continuing to use Truesight means you accept the new terms
12. Termination
I Can Shut Down Truesight
- If it becomes impossible to run
- If I go out of business
- If the legal situation changes
- If I just decide to stop
If I do:
- I'll give 30 days' notice if I can
- You can export your data
- I'll delete everything after you stop using it (per the Privacy Policy)
- No refunds, but you get your data
You Can Stop Using Anytime
- Just stop logging in
- Delete your account if you want
- Export your data first
13. Disclaimers
Truesight Is Provided “As Is”
- I don't guarantee it will work perfectly
- I don't guarantee it will work for your specific use case
- I don't guarantee uptime
- I don't guarantee Scribe's AI will be good
You're using it at your own risk.
No Warranty
- I make no promises about Truesight working without bugs
- I make no promises about features in the future
- I make no promises about anything, really
14. General Legal Stuff
Governing Law
- This is governed by Dutch law
- If we end up in court, it'll be in the Netherlands.
Entire Agreement
- This plus the Privacy Policy is the whole agreement
- If any part is invalid, the rest still stands

One More Thing
I'm one person. I'm not a corporation with a legal team. These terms are honest, not designed to screw you over.
The deal is:
- You own your creative work
- I provide the tool
- You use it responsibly
- Neither of us is liable for catastrophic disasters
That's it.
If something seems unfair, email me. I might change it.
